MHS Students are required to wear their IDs above the waist, below the neck, and on the front of your body starting Monday.

Students can purchase their own lanyard or clip if they prefer something different than what the school provided. Students who do not have an ID will need to see Mrs. Holt in the counseling office to get a replacement. An ID with a lanyard and cover will cost $5, but an ID by itself is $3. Starting on Monday, students without an ID will be required to purchase a temporary ID for $1 that day. Then, if the ID is lost, they will be issued a new ID and will need to pay $3. Students will be placed on a fine list if they don’t have the money at the time.

“We want to keep students and staff safe,” MHS Assistant Principal, Ms. Canonico, said. “When people have on ID’s, we know they are supposed to be in the building. If someone is roaming without an ID, then we know they shouldn’t be here and we can help maintain the safety and security of the school.”

At the start of the second semester, students need to ensure they have their ID with them at all times. The ID needs to be either around the neck with the lanyard or clipped on the body above the waist and below the neck. Students attending a field trip or are riding the bus after school must have to badge on in order to ride.

Next Monday, teachers and administrators will send students without an ID to the office to purchase a temporary or new ID.
