The Lady Panther Volleyball team has their round three playoff game against Red Oak tonight at 7:00 pm at Cedar Hill High School.

The volleyball team will be taking on a tough team tonight. The Lady Panthers have had a five match game every time they have played the Lady Hawks this season. Last year, the Lady Panthers made it to round three of the playoffs before losing to Lake Ridge, 3-1. If the Lady Panthers win tonight to move past round three, then they will make school history by making it to round four of playoffs.

MHS Junior, Samantha Rodgers, talks about the obstacles and goals of the team throughout this season.

“My team has really come along way since August 1st,” Rodgers said. “We’ve had injuries and trials, but we’ve faced adversity and went through it together. We’re hoping to make it past round three and make school history. Our big goal is to make it to state, but our small goal is to play the best volleyball game every chance we are given.”

MHS Senior and Texas A&M volleyball commit, Sydney Little, reflects on her final season of volleyball at Midlothian High School.

“I knew we could get this far but this is where all our hard work pays off,” Little said. “This is the round we’ve all been looking forward to, this is where we finish our business. I’m so proud of how hard each of my teammates have worked. I’ve seen them put the team before themselves day after day. I wouldn’t have wanted my last high school season any other way.”

Senior Volleyball Player Destiny Leatherwood says, “I’m really proud of my team, we’ve come a long way since pre-season to now. Getting into playoffs has been a big thing for us before season started, as we progressed into our season it was ‘road to state.’ The girls and I have came along way since August 1st, we’ve learned a lot of things and achieved many goals. Getting as far as we have gotten and the feeling to get this far is awesome. I wouldn’t want to be apart of any other volleyball team.”

Everyone is encouraged to come out and support the Lady Panthers tonight at 7 p.m. at Cedar Hill High School as they take on Red Oak for round three of playoffs.
